Since January 2014, the Swedish Energy Agency and f3 have financed the collaborative research program Renewable transportation fuels and systems. The aim of the program is to enhance the understanding of systems among politicians, authoraties and industry stakeholders through analyses that in different ways can work as scientifically based decision support.
In order to realise the innovation potential of renewable sustainable transportation fuels in society, the knowledge about innovation systems and technological solutions need to be combined with e.g. economy, psychology, and behavioural sciences. This is the reason that the research program includes a category of projects that are more social science oriented – ”Stakeholders, policy measures, and strategies”. The projects within this category focus on the practical issues of the society shifting to renewable transportation fuels, along with analyses of what kind of strategies could be employed to ease the shift.
This is, in short, the contents of the first article in a series that we have chosen to call Fokus på (English: In focus). The series aims at presenting different features and output of the research program in a popular manner, in parallel to the project reports that are produced.
The first article is available here (in Swedish).
